A conference to discuss current on-line privacy policies and practices in the Canadian private sector, the effectiveness of the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act, and related emerging information privacy issues.

The University of Toronto's Centre for Innovation Law and Policy at the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Information Studies will be hosting a conference on the implementation of the Personal Information and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA): A review of Internet privacy statements and on-line practices.

Daniel Solove, an associate professor of law at the George Washington University Law School and an authority in the areas of information privacy law and cyberspace law, will be the keynote speaker for the conference.

The conference will take place March 18 in the Bennet Lecture hall inside Flavelle House at the Faculty of Law.  There is no cost to attend the conference, but registration is encouraged.  Registration is also available at the door. A  timetable and speaker's list is now available.

The conference will be webcast live, and remote participants will be able to post questions to speakers and session moderators through this website's Public Forum.
